The sun slivers through bare winter trees Wind whistles in the cattails Blue jays sing in the pine But I am caught in circles, trying to change your mind White gulls spiral up, a sparkly wizard’s flame The log spins memories, in rings of time But I am caught in circles, trying to change your mind I see my shadow in the water My body ripples with the waves Oh, let the water take me Please, let the water take me Oh, let the water take me Where I’m bound to go Where I’m bound to go I am rain pouring into mouths, into bodies, into soil, into seeds I am river rushing into rocks, into night, into sapphire, into green I am ocean I pull up high, then crash down Deep enough to hold other life I am air flying up into golden light into soft sheets of the sky I am cloud changing in your eye Into rain, into lake, into ice, into river, into sky Into rain, into lake, into ice, into river, into sky Oh, let the water take me Oh, Let the water take me Please, let the water take me Oh, Let the water take me Where I’m bound to go Where I’m bound to go

this is where we watched the sleeping swans this is where we found kittens in the camperdown elm tree this is where we carried the baby turtle across the road this is where we sang rounds on the hill where we sledded down how do I move on how do I move on this is where we picnicked till late this is where you forgave me, in the dark, by the lake this is where I splashed you paddling watched the heron dance quietly this is where we touched our hearts silently to say I love you I love you how do I -- how do I move on how do I move on

My boat crashes into a rocky bend I swim in dark cold water trying to reach him again Prickly Swamp Rose scrapes my arm My body aches, but I'm becharmed The water is too murky I use my magic light to see High waves, wind, and night All my life I've only known a love for which I fight All my life I've only known a love for which I fight An angler fish finds me, tries to keep me underwater I lose my breath, but escape his grip, to travel onward High waves, wind, and night All my life I've only known a love for which I fight All my life I've only known a love for which I fight Something grabs my leg again the claw of a red scaly dragon her voice in deep tremolo If you answer my riddle, then you can go: If you love someone who doesn't love you, what kind of love is that, true? If you use all your magic to get to his shore, is that what your gift is for? If you didn't have to fight, how could you use your light? I have nothing to say, the dragon sends me back the other way Low waves, still and dim I have never known this ease of swimming with the wind I have never known this ease of swimming with the wind Here I am on warm sand resting in the sunlight not in waves, faraway I have more strength, so here, I'll remain The magic light I used for him I turn back to my own self warms my belly feel almost free In time, I'll know him as only the one who brought me back to me the one who brought me back to me

Glow 01:40
singing on the sidewalk on the broken piano with the missing key laughing when you found the metal nail within the bean soup you were eating how much do we miss when we blink our eyes now that it's over what is really mine light falls underwater but we can't stay there long to see the glow
5.
Fireflies 02:32
stars drip in the night melt into our minds quiver the solace reaching the aweless sleeping tight ashes in the wind zinnias bursting in there is nothing there is nothing that’s mine skin like dust, dissipate mind a cloud, watch it fade I was just dreaming you were still breathing next to me glass in my heart all shattered parts give them wings, let them sing in the sky fireflies in the night shine, then lose their bright just a flicker just a flicker of light
6.
fill your belly with wind mouth open eyes spill with light blue seeping in hear a shell sing in waves an echo of her home holy water, in the church outside watch trees when the rain comes, bow in the wind an oasis inside me cerulean rippling we all drink the same blue feel our interwoven roots holding still as our leaves above shift into green red brown fall to the ground always changing always still always changing always still always changing always still
7.
Willow 03:22
oh willow are you weeping, in the summer in the shade oh willow, are you sleeping, in the closing of the day will I ever love another, like I loved you that way? will I ever love my own self, like I loved you that way? oh willow, are you weeping, did you know this was our fate? oh willow are you leaving, can you take my heart away? to the meadow, to the river, let me live without this pain who will love me though I'm broken, who will stay till I'm ok oh, the loons were calling the mountain's falling we still had more to dream oh, you’re the tree we planted by the pond we swam in underneath the eagle's wings oh willow are you weeping, in the summer in the shade oh willow, are you sleeping, in the closing of the day

My home is missing in the fog I wander the forest Bare feet on muddy floor Skin torn An acorn we sow To become more Deep in soil, down below The only way to return home is to give up what I know I don't want to lose you, but you're already gone The only thing I'm holding now, clenched fists, tight jaw The only way to return home is to give up the love I've known The only way to return home is to give up the love I've known I sink my body into earth, my roots reach down to touch mycelium a constellation underground Oh Duchess of Fungi, Oh Lady of Truffles, can you lead me home? Can the darkness show me where to go? Can the darkness show me where to go? Under earth in eternal night, I follow mushroom roots Don't know if I'll survive Chanterelle, Parasol, Muscaria, Black Saddle Fairy Ring, Cremini, Hen of the Woods, Maitake Sweet Bread, Cryptic Bonnet, Bear's Head, Wine cap Will the mushrooms lead me back? Puff ball, shaggy mane, blue milky cap, slippery jack Ear Straw, Tiger's Eye, Wood Ear, Velvet Foot, Golden Needle, Pig's Ear, Belly Button, Milky Cap Will the mushrooms lead me back? Can the darkness show me where to go? Can the darkness show me where to go? Deep in soil down below, My body aches, I travel on I don't know what still awaits For I give up the love I've known I give up the love I've known I give up everything I know Please let the darkness show me where to go

I no longer have you but I still have the eagle above, long black wings, a snowy head bear with midnight fur, a black so rich moose by the forest floating in the mist kayak on the lake to watch the heron walk on water like a ballet dancer that time we laughed for hours when the paddle missed the ball cantaloupe and watermelon chair that blew into the water I gave you everything I have and now I'm left with everything I have elk sitting in the field, eating grass but oh so still the song we sang about love and freedom hoping we would heal the sound of the bottle making bubbles in the pond the world's greatest song sunsets that painted mountains red like volcanoes in the sky and the stars that fell into our eyes as we lay under the night I gave you everything I have and now I'm left with everything I have I don't have your love but I still have mine I still have mine

the road is winding we’re still driving past all we left behind the spider’s spinning on the rearview mirror barely on the line falling backwards in the verse of night stars move forward broken bells of light we were singing that song about freedom hoping love would stay my heart, still open we have not spoken since you went away falling backwards in the verse of night stars move forward broken bells of light I’m still aching I can’t stop breaking this is how I’ll be free Mmmm
